Vehicle valuation examination FAQ
Answers on value, repair, insurance calculations, inspection, documents and delivery of results.
Questions answered
How does vehicle valuation examination differ from vehicle technical examination?
This study addresses vehicle and repair values, diminution in value, usable salvage and calculations. Accident mechanics, speed and technical avoidability are different tasks; fault is a legal question.
Can value be determined using only documents and photographs?
Sometimes, if the source data suffice for the agreed task. If material characteristics or damage are unsubstantiated, inspection may be needed or the conclusion will be limited to the available materials.
Which date should I specify?
The date for which value or repair costs are required. The event date also matters for an insurance dispute. Conditions are set before calculation; current prices do not automatically apply to past dates.
Are OSAGO calculations and market repair costs the same?
No. The purpose, price sources, wear treatment and applicable rules may differ. OSAGO uses the unified methodology applicable to the event; a market calculation requires its own agreed conditions. The recoverable sum is determined under the legal procedure.
Can the insurer's estimate be reviewed?
Yes. Provide the inspection record, complete calculation, photographs and vehicle documents. Inputs, damage list, repair operations, prices, labour requirements, coefficients and arithmetic are checked.
Is diminution in value calculated for every vehicle?
No. Feasibility and limits depend on methodology, vehicle characteristics, condition and damage history. Restoration repairs alone do not guarantee a positive calculation result.
Can a vehicle be examined after repair?
It depends on surviving signs and documents. Pre-repair photographs, inspection records, work orders and replacement-part information are needed. Alteration of the object may limit conclusions.
What about concealed damage?
It is not automatically presumed. Additional inspection, technical documentation or agreed access to components may be needed. Disassembly and additional actions are agreed separately.
Must the insurer or other parties be notified of inspection?
Notification requirements and procedure depend on the dispute type and applicable rules. They should be agreed before inspection. Submitting an inquiry does not mean notifications have been sent.
Do you identify the party at fault in an accident?
No. A vehicle valuation assignment excludes legal assessment of fault and addresses the agreed goods and value questions.
Do you work with vehicles in other regions?
Document-based work, site visits or other inspection arrangements are assessed for the specific task before accepting the order.
Can I order a review of another expert's report?
Yes. The full report, appendices, photographs, original calculations and questions are needed. Review may identify errors or limitations but does not guarantee a procedural outcome.
Can another person pay?
Yes, under the Offer and Invoice-Order terms. Payment gives no right to demand a predetermined conclusion and does not itself make the payer the recipient of the result.
How are cost and time frame determined?
By vehicle type, questions, condition, volume of materials and inspection and calculation needs. Specific terms are recorded in the Invoice-Order before payment.
Must the result be electronic?
No. Paper copies and/or an electronic document are supplied by agreement. Format, number of copies, delivery method and need for an electronic signature are set by the order terms.
What happens to files and subscriptions after an inquiry?
Files are used for the inquiry or agreed service. An inquiry without a contract is retained for up to 90 days after the last substantive message or conversation; contractual materials are retained on the relevant legal bases. An inquiry does not subscribe you to advertising: subscription and opt-out are handled separately.
